The amount of water does effect the size of water. They have a directly proportional relationship where the increase in the amount of water increased the relative size of water. And vice versa. You can get ideas for science fair project on the link below:

If you increased the mass of water but also increased the pressure on the water. You may be able to keep the same volume.
