What Were The Cars Like In The 1940s?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The cars in 1940s were heavy-set and did not carry the features of small and speedy modern-day cars. Improvements were made to these car models nearly every year or an alternate year. There were many companies in the competition. Some of these companies are still in while a few have closed down. Alvis cars (Alvis car and Engineering Company Ltd) operated from 1919 to 1967. The cars manufactured were Alvis 10/30, Alvis 11/40, Alvis Crested Eagle, Alvis Silver Crest and others.

The other companies and the cars manufactured by them can be listed out as follows -
Beetles cars, Plymouth Deluxe Coupe, Pontiac Torpedo, Pontiac Delux 4 door touring sedan, Pontiac with GM Hydromatic Drive, Austin cars, Buick Roadmaster Convertible Sedan (1947), Cadillaac series 62 Coupe the Ville New, Chevrolet Fleetmaster, Chevrolet Clipper, Crysler cars, Ford Station Wagon, Ford Sportsman, Ford Delux model 2 door sedan, Dodge cars, Hillman Minx, Hudson cars, Lincoln cars, Nash cars, Oldsmobile cars, Packard cars, Studebaker Champion, Willys cars.
