How Is I Refuse To Except Your Refuse Pronounced?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Refuse is an example of a heteronym, a word which has two separate meanings, different pronunciation, but only one spelling.

The first refuse should be pronounced reFYOOZ - the second refuse is pronounced REFyoos

You have also a mistake in your sentence - you should have written accept, not except,

Please see the following sentences to show the differences between the two words

I like all vegetables except cabbage which I think horrible.
If offered cabbage for dinner, I would not accept it.
