    The chemical compounds which contain carbon atoms are called organic compounds. There are two types of organic compounds synthetic and natural organic compounds. The organic compounds which are obtained from living organisms are called natural organic compound. Those organic compounds which are produced during the chemical reactions of other chemical compounds are called synthetic organic compounds. The compounds which have chemical elements other than carbon are called inorganic compounds. These compounds contain minerals and do not contain hydrocarbons.
