Where Is Castle Vale?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Castle Vale is located in Birmingham City in England and was formerly known as Berwood. In the 1960's it was primarily used as a place to accommodate the rising population. It was renowned more so for its tower clocks, thirty of them.  Since the entire place is built on an air field most of the places here are named after aircrafts and airfields alike.

Though the place was flourishing until the late 60's, the 70's marked Castle Vale's steady decline. This phenomena continued on throughout the 80's and by then a significant percent of the people living here were either unemployed or opted for theft and robbery as means to make money. Castle Vale was back in the news in the year 2005 when a book called 'No Longer Notorious' was published about it. It spoke about how the place had changed from the past few years and was now a favorable place to live in.
