It is very important to connect your iPod to the personal computer in order to transfer the music. When you purchased your iPod, you must have got a USB cable along with it. After connecting, place the iPod on the dock and your iPod will get detected. Some people prefer using the dock as it keeps the iPod standing instead of lying down.

But i have facing problem in this process , i have received on comment after ipod connected,
that is your ipod is not connected to your pc,but ipod shown in my compuer, i don't know how to songs transfered from pc to new ipod.,

If an ipod nano plug the small end into of the usb cable into the computer plug the big end of the usb cable in to the bit of the ipod that the earphones go in and open itunes and you've connected it
