Are There Any Vegetarian Restaurants In Edinburgh?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

As one of the great cosmopolitan cities in the UK, Edinburgh is a good bet if you are looking for vegetarian food. There are a large variety of vegetarian Indian restaurants but if you are looking for traditional Scottish fare, just without the meat, there are several places which will do just that. The David Bann Restaurant, on St Mary's Street, boasts home-made vegetarian haggis and Jerusalem artichoke bake, as well as dishes from around the world. Black Bo's, also on St Mary's Street (between the Royal Mile and Cowgate) serves similar food but, if you are travelling with meat-eaters, also caters for non-vegetarians.

There are also several establishments which offer slightly more than just food around Edinburgh. The Forest, for example, on Bristo Place, is the preferred meeting place for many of the city's activists and musicians. Similarly The Engine Shed, on St Leonard's Lane, offers subsidised meals on weekdays and gives handicapped people the opportunity to work.
