What Types Of Plays Did William Shakespeare Write?

Answer Question

9 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

William Shakespeare is one of, if not the most, famous playwright in the UK, if not across the world. Many of the stories he created have acted as framework for most modern day stories, plays and films.

Besides the amazing language that Shakespeare used, the range of content and genres that he spanned in his writing are marks of greatness. They are normally split into three genres; tragedies, histories and comedies.

Shakespeare wrote many tragedies such as Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet (also thought to be one of the greatest love stories ever told), Titus Andronicus and Othello.

He wrote history plays such as Henry IV, V and VI and their numerous parts.

Some of his most loved works are his comedies including Twelfth Night, Measure for Measure, All's Well That Ennds Well and Two gentlemen of Verona.

His complete works are widely available. I picked up my first copy for £2! And there are plenty of films if you would prefer.

He wrote all types of plays. A lot of them involved scandal, deceit, theft, murder, incest, and more. Take a journey and do some reading of Shakespeare. You will never regret it.
