I bought some asparagus plants and they came as roots. I made a raised bed and filled it full of garden dirt and some compost with manure in it, and planted the roots. You want to wait a few years before cutting them. They need to get established good before cutting. My plants are now three years old, and I'll be enjoying them this year for sure!
