How Should I Celebrate Litha?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Litha is the Pagan name for The Summer Solstice on the 21st June. This is the longest day of the year with the shortest night. The best way to celebrate this festival is outside. Rise at dawn to greet the sun or take a walk and observe whilst taking time to appreciate nature around you. This is a great time to observe your own life and deal with parts that need to be let go of and look to the future for new growth and fertility. A great way to start over is with a party.  Ideally you would hold a midsummer party with food, drink, music, dancing and lots of laughter. The theme should be in yellow and gold to mark the sun 's peak and green to mark the lush growth or in Pagan beliefs the battle of the Holly & Oak Kings. Many people also mark this date by visiting sacred sites such as stone circles. This is also a good time to engage in studying and using crystals to heal and protect.
