How Are Viruses Detected?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Viruses are detected with the help of anti-viruses. A big sign of viruses hitting the computer are when a particular machine slows down and keeps giving constant problems. A virus is a self-uploading computer program which is made in such a way that it changes the way a computer functions, without the authorization or awareness of the user.

Though this term is associated with Malware, a proper virus copies and performs the task given to it. Viruses are generally built with an idea of intentionally damaging and destroying data.

Malware is a wide group of softwares which are developed to penetrate or completely harm a computer system. The various types of Malware are spyware, adware, worms, true viruses and trojan horses. Though latest versions of anti viruses defend a computer from these threats, Malware is just a small part of the problem.
