What Do You Think Of People Like This?

Http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qaRK47aZbU Basically, A Bunch Of People From The Westboro Church Decided To Preach There Beliefs, Which Were For The Most Part, Anti-gay And Anti-American. This Took Place Not Far From Where I Lived. In Fact, It Was A Couple Blocks From An Apartment Complex I Formerly Took Residence In. If I Had The Displeasure Of Seeing Them, I Would Have Grabbed The Nearest Paint Ball Gun And Shot The Place Up. What Do You Think? What Do You Think About These Kind Of People? Watched a short bit of your film. Find it very hard to understand how fanatical wingnuts on either end of the spectrum, be they the religious right or the hard-core liberal left think the in-your-face proselytizing will convert even one individual to their way of thinking is beyond my comprehension. Would be funny were it not so sad. Only those with a very short supply of intellect are drawn to his type of action.

Yes. In my experience also, our everyday actions seem to be much more effective in persuading others that we believe what we say, and what we truly do believe in, and also that it has validity worthy of consideration of others.

I completely understand how that video made you feel, but shooting those people with paint balls would have been an impulsive action and not very appropriate.

Your question is what do we think of those people?  I'm not sure I can put it into words.  I was speechless after watching the video.  My intolerance for ignorance is nothing compared to the intolerance of those people.  I was astounded by their hate and their perversion of religion and the Bible.  Why would anyone want to read a book that promotes such hatred (I'm not saying that it actually does)?  I take solace in the fact that it was a small group because the idea of a large, organized movement spouting such ideas is truly frightening.  I can only say that those people are seriously misguided hate-mongers.  I would be ashamed to admit that I went to the same church they attend, and I would be ashamed to know them.

Well, it depends on what you consider large. The Westboro Baptist Church are about as large as the KKK or the Neo-Nazi's. Regardless, they all sicken me to no end.

I don't really care to take the time to watch.  If people are gay or however they decide to live their lives then that is their life.  Yes we all have our opinions.  I don't agree with being gay but I don't judge those who are it is their llife.  But they people don't need to put out a lot of nonsence in public either, as long as it is clean the way they are acting not like they are running naked in the streets.
This question is for those who watch that site.  I don't have an oppinion about it as long as they are not hurting anyone or exposing themselves then it is their life to live.  We all have our right to our opinion and right to express it in good ways not bad ways.  Some like to protest that is there thing.  They want to be heard too.

I must disagree with whomever assigned bad rating to your answer. It is quite honest and direct in thinking, and gives fair consideration to the role of protest, even when we may doubt the cause of those protesting. I give you 5 stars for your thinking, lisamarie1, and also for the time you have taken to respond.

Did you or did you not watch the video? The point was not homosexuality, so I tend to think you didn't watch it. The point Draaxen was trying to make was the people and what they were doing. It was more than merely protesting. You really should watch it, or watch it again.
