Garter snakes are not poisonous. That I know. I'm unsure about the teeth, but they are the most docile snake, I've heard. Although I do not agree with keeping a wild animal as a pet by any means if that's what you're doing.

 Garter snakes have tiny hair like teeth. They cant hurt you but they sure scare you to death. I have the experience of these snakes several times while hunting in the woods.

 Garter snakes are not poisonous. I know for sure. As for the teeth I really wouldn't call them fangs like a cobra would have or anything like that. They do have very small teeth and I have been bitten by garters several times by picking them up in my yard.

 Thanks to you all, I just got it from a friend of mine who passed away, and I decided to take care of it for him. Her name is Makayle and she is a really nice snake. But when my husband picked her up, she tried to strike at the wall as if trying to get away from him. So IDK if she would bite us. She doesn't act aggressive, but I am scared of the fangs. Lol.
