How Do You Teach Your Dog Not To Go Up To Random People, And To Be More Of A Watch Dog?

My dod is deffinatly a very happy puppy. He runs up to random people. I want him to be more of a look out then a cheerful puppy. Because If I ever needed help. And I need my dog to do somthing I would want them to attack. How do you teach them?

    I agree with cjdavis. It's really all trial and error but it's one of the best ways to start off with this problem. Good luck, though. It takes a lot of patience to run a puppy.

      This may sound cruel but it REALLY WORKS!
      When your dog jumps up on someone have the person push their knee into the dogs chest. This I know for a fact because I had the same problem with my dog and it freaked me out how it worked, it may take a couple of times but IT WILL WORK.

        Puppies should be like yours, the wariness and watchfulness come with maturity. Please be patient and don't teach your puppy to dislike people.
