What Is Mean By Zero Gravity Flight? How Are They Constructed?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A zero gravity flight is one of the best ways for common men and women like us to experience that elite feeling of weightlessness that has so far been the exclusive preserve of astronauts and cosmonauts. It is a great experience, though a little expensive. However, the cost is nothing compared to what it would cost to get on board a spacecraft (around $200,000 is what it could cost to fly in Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic's suborbital spaceship sometime in 2009).

This is how a zero gravity flight operates. The aircraft used is  a modified version of a standard aircraft, such as a Boeing, which takes off and shoots upward at an almost vertical incline, before levelling off at a specified altitude, and then taking another near-vertical plunge for a specified distance. The pattern of the flight is a parabola basically, and a single such manoeuvre lasts a total of 25 seconds. The passengers are put through a series of such maneuvers.

Zero gravity flying is one of the hottest forms of adventure an is catching up rapidly with people across the globe.
