    Nile makes Egypt fertile.  So Egypt is known as gift of Nile. Nile river is used for navigation and fishing.  Aswan Dam is one of the biggest dam constructed across Nile river which irrigates almost all areas of Egypt.  In the absence of Nile Egypt remains as a desert.  Hence Nile plays a significant role in the ecological balance of North East Africa.
