What Is The Meaning Of Life? How Do I Determine My Life Purpose?

Answer Question

To impact others live positively. To be the best person you can be. You can not determine your own life. You can determine which path you can take in life. Choose a good one, cause there are do do-overs.

      Well, the answer is 42.
No, I'm not just saying this to be funny, cause there are depressing few people who get this.
What 42 represents is the fact is that no one answer is going to work for everyone. Perhaps 42 works for that super computer, but the rest of the galaxy was PO'd (Read The Hitch-hiker's Guide To The Galaxy)
I think the best answer I ever heard is from the movie City Slickers. Curly tells Billy Crystal that the meaning of life is one thing.
He realizes later what he means: The meaning of life is different to every person. That One Thing can be anything.
(Before I tick off the preacher above, yes I do believe in Christ)
What works for me will not work for you. What gives my life meaning may make others to jump from a bridge if they applied it to their life. I have accepted this. I have gained a greater tolerance because I have realized this. I worry about the meaning of my own life, and let others do the same. Sure, I care that not everyone will go to heaven, but I cannot make up other people's minds for them.
God did give us free will...
I won't go preachy. I simply say that one must find the meaning for their own life. My best advice to you is to LIVE! I am tired of hearing about suicides from people who wanted a clear defined meaning of life. Better to simply live, and realize right and wrong.
      Good luck.

What you are saying then is that each person can come up with their own idea of the meaning of life and the purpose for it. No matter how you spin that, it is undeniably wrong. We did not create ourselves. We were created by God who has a distinct purpose for each one of us. We need to seek God's face to find the answer, the most basic being that we are to Love, Honor, Worship and Praise Him by being in a relationship with Him. An extension of that life is that we Love others as we Love Him.

I agree with everything except the part about Christ. Also, this person (trimjbradj) talking about god: Imaginary people have nothing to do with the meaning of life. Go pray somewhere you crazy cult member.

The meaning of life is what you have. Not what you don't. A family, friends, someone you love and you wouldn't give that person up for all the riches in the world.

To determine... Open your eyes to the possibilities and never give up. Look around and see what you have. Then realize that you have enough to be happy.

Ahhh, the age old question, "What is the meaning of life?"
The meaning of life is this. God is the creator who created us. He loves us and wants to have a relationship with us. God is a holy God who cannot be around sin. We are sinners. Many people believe we are sinners because of Adam and Eve, but the truth is that we are sinners by choice. The punishment for sin is death. Death has two meanings. 1. Death-eternal separation from God and all that is good and holy. 2. Death-physical death which either takes a person to heaven to live eternally with God, Jesus and all the saints who've gone before or to hell the place of the damned. Now many people have this idea that God sends people to hell, but the truth is that we make choices and if we make the choice that we don't want anything to do with God, we don't want to worship and honor Him, then He won't force us to do so. If we want NOTHING to do with Him, He loves us enough to give us our freedom. God is all things good. Heaven is God's abode and all good things are from Him. To be away from God is to be away from all things good. The alternative is to be in Hell a place where there is NO good thing, at all. Back to sin. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ. If we want forgiveness of our sins, we need to accept that we are indeed sinners, we deserve the punishment of being separated from God, and we gladly accept the gift of Jesus Christ paying our penalty of sin by dying on the cross. Jesus was not forced to die on the cross. He willingly and lovingly chose to do it. That was the reason he was born and the reason for Him to die. He willingly lay down on that cross and willingly let those soldiers drive those "nails" into his wrists and feet. He lovingly told them that He forgave them and even asked His Father, God to forgive them because they did not know what they were doing. Once we accept that God is the Creator, we the created, we are sinners, Jesus died to pay for our sins, we accept the death on the cross by Jesus as payment for our sin, then at that moment we become born again, and we finally have the answer to the age old question, "What is the meaning of life?" It is to know God, love God, worship God and honor God with our lives.
Once you are saved, your purpose in life is to live to honor Him to lead others to Him.

For the record, Jesus also tells us Judge, and you will be judged also.
You missed my point. One cannot force another to find Christ. If that was the case, we would all be believers. He must find his life's meaning on his own. Sure, he can find guides, but no-one can make his mind for him. With your holier-than-thou rant, he is probably going to be scared away, rather than saved. One does not lead lambs by bashing in their brains. One leads lambs gently. Christ never told us to force people.

You are crazy. "God" has NOTHING to do with the meaning of life. He did NOT create us.

It is a Journey. Those who you played and laugh a lot will end up leaving you to carry on their life. Every one has a role to play. We all have different prospective of life. We judge things according to our experience and our age mentality.  During this Journey you will meet with people you like and people you don't. There is alot of tests in the process. Some are too painful that you try to forget. Tohers are so pleasent that you will think of it frequently. You will wish to repeat this experiance again. Life is good because you don't only learn a new thing every day. But you also enjoy the varaity.

One last thing. If you were aware that your life is too valuable to you, then you won't waste any moment.

It is too easy to see how things are too important to a person. Just by  watching  those who  dont have them.

An old people who wish the time go back to make up for the time wasted by them.
