Butterflies form an essential, but integral part of the ecosystem. The way ecosystem works is that its like a web of needs and the organisms that gratify those needs. Likewise, butterflies are an important food resource for songbirds. Plus they perform an essential function in nature by pollinating several different species of plant that particularly attract butterflies. Hence, even humans are dependent on butterflies. For instance, if there were no butterflies and there would be no pollination which would result in a shortage of certain food resources and may result in extinction of several plant and animal species along with them.

Like any other insect on earth the butterfly is too important as it creates much more changes in the atmosphere which leads to violet wheather on the planet. Many flowering plants depend on butterflies and butterflies too also depend on the flowering plant as their source of food.
