How Do We Take Care Of A New Born Dwarf?
We recently purchase 2 dwarf hamsters in the last 2 weeks. One of the dwarfs had a baby. What do we do as far as care for this new born? How do we tell which if not both are the female (mum)? Is there any special food(s) to feed the baby?
Answers
For the first few days, the main thing is to leave the mother in peace as long as she is warm, comfortable and well fed. For more specific instructions you can go to this very detailed site which has sections on everything - diet, caring for newborns and even a diagram of how to tell males from females. You should find everything there.
