How Can I Be An Assessor For NVQ's?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

National Vocational Qualifications are vocational awards in England and Wales that are achieved through training and assessment. These are nothing but qualifications needed in a practical sense to do a job. There are 5 levels of NVQs which range from basic work to work at senior-management level.

The work of the NVQ assessor is to help and assess the candidates who work towards NVQ qualifications.  Some of the main functions of the NVQ assessor is to plan NVQ training programmes and workshops, monitor candidates in the workplace, study portfolios of evidence of candidates.

Though there is no particular set of academic qualifications needed to become a NVQ assessor, you should have the knowledge, skill and talent relevant to the occupational sector you will be assessing. You can be an internal verifier or an external viewer.

Detailed information about the requirements for an assessor along with information like skills needed, the hours that you need to put in, opportunity and annual income are discussed at length in www.learndirect-advice.co.uk/helpwithyourcareer/jobprofiles/profiles/p
