What Is GPRS In Mobile?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

GPRS stands for (General Packet Radio Service).
It is a Non-voice service equipped the existing TDMA (time division multiple access) networks and used by GSM networks. GPRS provides the transmission of IP (Internet Protocol) packets over existing cellular networks. The usage of this facility is to connect to the Internet where you can send and receive emails as usually Internet dose. After having the said facility you will be able to send and receive Pictures, Videos and Audio files using MMS (Multimedia Messing Service). Most of the Cellular companies issue SIMs having GPRS facility activated by default while others activate it on demand.
This is useful for the people especially working in the field and don't have access to Internet. With the help of GPRS you can easily connect you PC/Laptop through Cable, Infrared or Bluetooth to your mobile and thus connect to the Internet the same as we do from home or office by using Dialup connections. You can also use Internet using your Moble Micro Browser and send/receive your email from any website you wish to use. Since the Mobile Micro Browser are not fully computable with most of the HTML or JavaScrips Tags, It won't show most of the items on the web. Even though it is good when you don't have any mean of Internet.
    Wish you best of luck.
