Obama promised another stimulus check before he won the Presidency. Now that he is President, there is no mention of another stimulus check....Sounds to me like the same old campaign promises. I don't believe anyone running for office. They know exactly what you want to hear just to get votes. There is no assurance that even one of these promises will be upheld once they are in office.

Obama is full of empty promises. Its all politics, say anything to get voted in. Looks like alot of the Obama voters are seeing they made a mistake. Should have noticed that before you voted. Its only gonna get worse before it gets better. We need more than a stimulus check to get us out of this deep hole (getting deeper everyday). Our great grandkids are gonna have to have a million dollar a yr job to pay this stimulus pkg back.
I'm hoping the checks be the same as last years stimulus checks a lot of us need that money times are really getting hard and some of us still have jobs it just don't pay enough and those checks really help so whoever said go get a job we have jobs we just still trying to make ends meet

Just about everyone in this chat room has a valid point. I am a working middle-class man. I'm just curious, will those on welfare get a stimulus check. I definitely understand that several have lost their jobs, most of which have likely worked all of their adult lives and have paid taxes throughout their career. You deserve a check, but not those that have depended on the goverment and have had 6, 7, 8 kids so they can get a check every month. They don't deserve a stimulus check. It's bs that they even get a monthly check, while the majority of us work our butts off for what we have. Then when it comes down to it, we can't even get half the benefits the government offers, because we make to much to qualify (I.e. College grants, healthcare, etc.). Don'to get me started about our government! TE

N maybe if people could learn how to survive by themselves there wouldn't be this problem. I'd be much happier if the government didn't give all this money out. Especially when it's not even theirs. What makes you think that everyone can just go out and get a job? Do you even watch the news? Apparently not. Obviously, you have a good job. Why don't you just do it and mind your own business.
You obviously do not watch the news. But many people have had good jobs and been laid off...so of course they are concerned about funds. I have a good job, but because I do watch the news I know what's going on and I also know that just because I have a job now doesn't mean that I'm invincible....and you had better know it too. What type of job do you have.... It must not require paying attention.....cause your commit was very dum, could'nt get anymore dum than that!!! And truth be told, when you get your stimulus check you'll be the first one at the mall. Have a good day!!

Yeah we should geoverment gave o insurance,n fair,we all deserve on,we should be tax free this year,finacial crisis,we are the people,latly it been we the goverment!!!!!!!!!!why cant we get a checksay to tax,say no raising taxes,like state and property,people are moving out of california it's too high,utah got a smokers tax,but the dropped the sales tax i heard,us in idaho we get screwed,lines of people homeless,sick goverment,clean it up now,please!!!!!!!

My wife and I were told we would recieve $250.00 ea. Married filing jointly..
The checks will be disbursed the end of May or the first part of June..You
have to have filed your 2008 tax return though..You will recieve the money
the same way you filed..eg..direct deposit or by check..Individuals with

1st of all, you don't get a stimulus check if you don't have a job. And a $819 billion dollar stimulus plan was just passed so its only a matter of time before hard workers get this. IF you didnt get one in 2008, you are more eligable to receive one this year.

I hate ignorance! One idiot said, "get a job". I had a great job and was laid off in late Oct of 2008. I haven't stopped looking and had to settle for a call center job. Secondly to the dummy that said Obama made campaign promises but hasn't fulfilled them needs to watch the news. If the g.d. Republicans were more concerned with the bulk of the country (middle-class), then we would have already had this stimulus package approved. How come no Republicans had a problem with the whold Corporate Bailout thing? I'll tell you why because the rich get richer and the poor just have to get it how you live!!

I am hearing now that we will not be getting a stimulus check it would be in way of a tax cut for workers of $500 a person or $1000 for couples that would total about $22 a pay check extra I really hope this is not true we really are needing a stimulus check.

A check would be good but i would be happy if the cost of food and gas would just go down and credit scores to buy a house and more health ins would be cheaper i think everybody is right in there own way ........everybody has there own opinion because everybody's situation is different so don't down someone for not having a job you never know the reason

Stimulus checks for 2009 in the amount of $250 beginning in may are ONLY for ssi, ssd, and a few others.

I'm hoping the idiot who said Get a Job feels like a bigger jerk then before he made that comment. I know many of us read it and wanted to slap some sense into them. I've always been a hard worker who can land great jobs. This is the first time in life i'm actually struggling and it's kind of scary being a newly single parent of three. Even with a college education...there's nothing. Obama had my hopes up....now i'm just pissed at the whole show he put on. I don't see any improvements which make a difference in my life. Or any middle class person I know for that matter.

You should have gotten another $13.00 a week extra on your pay check back about the time you filed your income tax for 08, as a "cost of living raise" or stimulus package if you will. Do the math, i don't remember but i think it is a little over $600 if your single and it doubles if your married, about $1352.00 for the year. So there is your stimulus for 09..... That's before tax, so they get some back. Obama's a pretty smart sob!!!!
