Are There Many British Television Shows That Air In Canada?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are several quality British television shows that air in Canada and these certainly bring much needed diversity to television stations often dominated by American and Canadian programs.

The majority of British shows aired in Canada are seen on the CBC. One of the newest British programs to make it to prime-time TV in Canada is the BBC's "Doctor Who." Series two of the science fiction show airs on Mondays at 8:00pm and all episodes are repeated on Saturdays at 12:30am.

Another British series shown on the CBC is Marple Mystery, a serial based on Agatha Christie's detective stories. Marple Mystery airs Sundays at 8:00pm.

Next to the newer shows is the old favourite, Coronation Street, which airs weekday evenings from 7:00pm. Additionally, those with satellite television can enjoy a large number of British reality, self-help and cooking programs on digital channels. Such programs include "Nigella Feasts," and a range of shows dealing with health issues and selling homes.
