Weight Loss Challenge: Pounds Lost Or Percent Of Body Weight Lost, What Is More Fair?

Myself and a few of the guys I work with want to have a weight loss challenge, but we are divided on how to judge it. Personally I vote for pounds lost. Am I wrong in thinking that it's unfair to do percentage lost? I mean if you have 2 people, and one weights 180 and one weights 220, if they both lose 10% of their body weight, should the one that weights 220 be the winner? In my opinion it's harder to lose 22 pounds that it is to lose 18. Any help?

The point is that what is the normal weight of person in a certain age and height. The body mass index tells about it perfectly. Losing weight is not easy as you have to take balanced diet with some exercise.

If both persons lose 10% weight that means that both have worked hard to lose weight. There is no winner in this game. The real winner is one who has weight according to BMI.

Yes, percentage is the fairest way, because if 2 people eat the same amount, the largest one will lose more lbs. Percentages make it equal.
