    Meningitis is basically the inflammation of the protective membranes that cover the brain and the spinal cord. This infection is normally caused by the infection of the fluid that surrounds the brain and the spinal cord.

    Normally people who suffer from Meningitis, if cured properly, do not show any after affects later on. However, this disease is known for causing a range of disabilities in affected people later on in their lives.

    It can cause memory loss, lack of concentration, deafness, residual headaches, clumsiness, Learning difficulties, Epilepsy, Paralysis, speech problems, loss of sight and in some cases can cause scarring, kidney damage, lung damage, arthritis, amputations etc. Despite of all these side affects, Meningitis is not known to leave you sterile.
