How Many Square Kilometres Is Ethiopia?

Ethiopia (officially speaking, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia) covers a total area of 1,127,127 sq kilometres. Out of these 1,119,683 square kilometres is land while 7,444 square kilometres is water. To give you an idea, Ethiopia is a little under double the size of Texas. It's completely landlocked with no coastline. Its land boundaries are 5,328 kilometres in length.

Ethiopia lies in Eastern Africa, just west of Somalia. Ethiopia's lowest point would be Denakil Depression which is -125 metres while its highest point is Ras Dejen at 4,620 metres. Its natural resources include small reserves of gold and platinum in addition to copper, potash as well as natural gas and hydropower.
