Which Are The Highest Partnerships For All The Wickets By Pakistan Against India In Cricket?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Batting has never been a major strength of Pakistan cricket.  Although there are a number of wonderfully talented batsman belonging to Pakistan with a great account of individual glory, the collective platform does not account for the same magnitude of brilliance that the batsmen have displayed in their personal leagues.  As for the partnerships for each wicket, the highest partnership for the first wicket by Pakistan and India was in the league match in the Singer Cup held in Singapore.  This partnership was between the famous opening duo of Aamir Sohail and Saeed Anwar, who scored 144 runs between themselves against India in the season of 1995-96.  For the second wicket, the record is shared by Zaheer Abbas and Mohsin Hasan Khan, who scored 205 runs together during the season of 1982-83.  The record for highest third wicket partnership against India is held by Saeed Anwar and Ijaz Ahmed of 230 runs, which is the highest for any and every wicket.  Next in line come Ijaz Ahmed and Inzamam-ul-Haq, who share the record for the greatest fourth wicket partnership against India, scoring 163 between them.  This was one partnership that remained unbroken.  For the fifth wicket, Imran Khan and Javed Miandad created a record partnership of 142 runs while the sixth wicket partnership record is of 82 runs shared by Saeed Anwar and Moin Khan.  Coming to the seventh and eighth wicket partnerships, the former was of 99 runs between Shoaib Malik and Moin Khan while the latter one was of 64 runs shared mutually by Saqlain Mushtaq and Salim Malik, who also hold the record for the ninth wicket partnership, which was of 45 runs.  As for the partnership for the last wicket, they were by the duo of Rana Naved-ul-Hasan and Arshad Khan who scored 42 runs between them at Kochin.
