What Time Of Year Is The Best To Prune A Magnolia Tree?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

While pruning the tree, all you have to do is to hold the limbs of the tree up with something and then cut them at the desired level. It can be cut with a chainsaw or any other cutting tool. Care has to be taken that no limbs are left sticking our. Some people believe that magnolias should not be pruned because the wounds do not heal and harm the plant. However, pruning is recommended because it exposes the tree to fresh air and helps it in healing. Pruning does not affect the growth of the tree much but is done to make the appearance of the better. Precarious magnolias should be pruned in the summer season and any other kind can be pruned whenever it is not blooming.
