A Hawk-Eye is a computer system that is used in games like cricket and tennis, in order to track the ball. It was Dr. Paul Hawkins who developed this term, when he was working at Roke Manor Research Limited in 2001. This development later went on to form its very own company known as Hawk-Eye Innovations Ltd, as a combined business enterprise with television making company Sunset + Vine. In this system that are basically six or more cameras across the ground, which is connected to one particular system. This computer then track together produces a defined 3D image of the trail of the ball.

This system in cricket is shown only to9 viewers. However, in future they plan to use this system by the third umpire, in order to make a much more efficient decision. Hawk-Eye also plans to venture into the game of basketball.
