If it didn't it sure would be a boring planet. It brings rainfall for plant growth,cold to keep the bugs from becoming out of control,sunshine for plants to stay healthy and even help humans stay healthy when received in moderation.cooler weather for the perfect time of the year to do work outside and brings in the cycles of the seasons for regeneration(dormancy) of plants,trees,bushes,flowers for the next year. Do to the earths orbit/rotation and position in it's orbit at certain times of the year.
