    It is pretty easy to calculate figures and numbers using excel. The software was designed for this very purpose. The exact methods to create a formula using excel and then carry out the calculations is as follows:     

    Enter the formula directly by typing it into a cell using numbers and mathematical symbols.   
    If you already have figures entered into the various cells in excel you can refer to the cell addresses in the formula. Whenever you change the values of any figure in a cell, the formula automatically calculates the result using the new values.

    You could also use the mouse, after entering edit mode, in the formula to refer to different cells. The advantage of using Excel to carry out calculations is that the results of a number of figures into different cells can be ascertained very quickly.
