I absolutely love fried chicken. I make a pretty mean fried chicken, too. I use only the boneless skinless breast so to get all white meat. I don't deep fry, I pan fry using just a simple coating of flour and spices. My late husband was from the South, so I had to learn to make fried chicken. It was his favorite, with mashed potatoes and corn. and sweet tea. He often called fried chicken "the Baptist bird" (he was a Baptist pastor!) Cracker barrel has what they call Sunday Fried CHicken - absolutely delicious!
I love it homemade. Store bought is ok but has to have good reasoning. Don't eat it as much though.

My whole family loves deep fried chicken. But like everybody else here it is a luxury that we can not afford or our bodies can not afford.

My family will only eat MY fried chicken! And believe me I hate the process of making it. The chicken soaks in buttermilk, dipped in flour and back in the buttermilk and dipped again in flour. Has to be pan fried in my favorite cast iron skillet and when that's all done, I have to make the white gravy with part of the grease drippings. I only make it ONCE a month!!!!!

Mine is similar, buttermilk (if I can leave it alone), flour, buttermilk breading, cast iron, and oven.
Fried chicken is one of my favorites! But I don't eat it much because of the high fat content. So I limit myself to maybe twice a year. I usually get it at Kentucky Fried Chicken because it's too much of a mess to make it at home. Do you make your own? And do you deliver? ♥

My mouth is watering! Guess I better go fix those hot dogs! lol I'm in Phoenix, Arizona so your chicken would probably be able to walk here cheaper than the price of gas!
My stomach isn't that friendly with fried one But I love oven-baked, barbecued or spicy-steamed one.
