You need a wiring diagram for the electrical system to see what is supplying the power to the ignition coil.  It could be a relay, computer or switch.  Commonly though, its a bad ground somewhere.  Sometimes battery cables have a second smaller wire that supplies 12v to electronics.  Ensure that smaller gauge wire has a good connection to the battery in addition to the heavy cable that carries current to the starter.

A little history on no power to a coil I once encountered on a Chevy Vega. I searched for hours and then broke down and called an old man that I knew that was a pro at such matters. After I told him everything I had already done he said, "Did you check the oil sending unit?" I told him that it was the coil not the oil sending unit! He went on to explain that GM had built in a safety feature in the oil sending unit that "killed" power to the coil in the event of low oil pressure to prevent damage to the engine.
I changed the oil sending unit and it fired right up.
I don't know about Jeeps but you may want to look at all aspects.
As Practical said, if you are versed in ready a wiring diagram on your Jeep that would be a good start.
