    Motivation is known as the processes that account for an individual’s intensity, direction, and persistence of effort toward attaining a goal.

    A theory by Abraham Maslow known as Maslow’s Hierarchy of Motivation and human needs, he hypothesized that within every human there exists a hierarchy of five needs. These needs are as follows:

    1.    Physiological
    2.    Safety
    3.    Social
    4.    Esteem
    5.    Self actualization
