Is A Stay At Home Mom A Profession?

Officially, no.  It is much more important than a profession.  Instead of pumping gas, flipping burgers, or doing the book, you get to raise children AND pump gas, flip burgers and do books FOR FREE! :)  Enjoy parenthood - it's like nothing else.

Yes it is a profession.  You are responsible for the raising of the children.  Their early years which are so important.  It can be more stressful than any 8-5 type job.  It never ends - it is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  I would not change it for a minute when my children were young.

If you do it correctly it is a profession.  Too many mothers give their children everything materially and leave the care of their children to others - or let them do their own thing.  You end up with a load of spoilt brats with poor education and no idea of discipline.  They don't last two minutes in the real world.  Far better give them less materially - love and attention cost nothing but are worth more than jewels.
