Why Are Volcanoes Dormant?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

When volcanoes erupt, they release (relieve) heat that is trapped beneath the earth. Erruptions can cause a significant change in climate or whether conditions. ( ex. When the last volcano errupted in SA, a place dominated by heat, snow began to fall. )

dormant volcanoes are not yet ready to release the heat, or in other words the area beneath the earths surface has not yet reached its max and has no need to erupt. However, it is possible the volcano will erupt in the future.
