Anthrax is a heavy metal band that originated from the New York City, New York in the United States of America. Anthrax released their full length debut album in the year 1984. Anthrax was easily one of the most popular bands of the 1980s. Anthrax is mainly notable for their combination of Thrash Metal along with Rap, Alternative and Hardcore. The band Anthrax is generally considered to be a part of the "Big Four" of the Thrash Metal Scene alongside the likes of Slayer, Metallica and one of the greatest Thrash/Speed Metal band of all time Megadeth.
The band Anthrax was formed by Guitarist Scott Ian and Bassist Dan Lilker. The band was formed in the year 1981. Later drummer Charlie Benante hoped on to the bandwagon along with guitarist Dan Spitz and vocalist Neil Turbin.
