What Was The Initial Standpoint Of The Soldiers Of Both Sides Who Fought For The American Civil War?

Answer Question

In the elementary stages of the American Civil War, both the Union and Confederate armies were underestimating the gravitas of the adversity that the entire American nation was incarcerated in.  Likewise, they also judged the duration and intensity of the American Civil War with an erroneous approach.  As a matter of fact, the common conjecture about the Civil War was that it would be too short, so short that the soldiers who are going to fight the war would be back in time for dinner.
Nevertheless it was soon clear to all of the enlisted participants of the American Civil War that the war was not going to end just like that but would last much longer and would bear much greater losses on both the sides.   This fact was well-proved as the war had progressed further resulting in countless destructions and damages.  It became the bloodiest war that the United States had ever faced in its entire history.
