How Do I Help Someone Get A Visitor's Visa To My Country?

My friend is living in Jamaica and would like to come visit me in Canada. I was told that it would be easier to 'invite' them first to help speed up the process? What is this? How do I start? Who do I contact? What is the cost?

    If traveling on a Jamaican passport -  yes that person will need a visa. The Canadian Embassy is in Kingston.

      Anyone who wishes to visit Canada must have a valid passport and a visa. Your friend must have a passport along with a bank statement showing that he has enough money to stay in the country. In order to help speed up the process you can send him a  letter of invitation, which he can attach with his visa application. Here is a link from where your friend can download visa forms and get all the information needed:
