Dogs are more easy to work with, they love to please their people, where a cat is more independent and don't like being confined in a harness or leash. You could teach a cat from a kitten to be use to a leash, but if they were to get scared, they could accidentally hurt themselves, or choke themselves. This is another reason people don't put them on leashes. Hope this helps. Good luck.

If you ever tried you would know. I put a harness and leash on my cat and she freaked, jumping and twisting in the air until she freed herself!
