How To Replace Brake Pads Front & Rear On A 2004 Ford Explorer?

    • Remove wheels
      Re-install 2 lug nuts to secure rotor
      Loosen 2 caliper mounting bolts
    • Remove 1 caliper mounting bolt to allow caliper to swing off of rotor
      Remove outer brake pad
    • Use "C" clamp and inner brake bad to retract piston into caliper body
    • Remove inner brake pad
    • Install new inner and outer pads
    • Swing caliper into position
      Secure mounting bolts
    • Pump break pedal to set pads against rotor prior to moving the vehicle
    • Replace wheels
    Make sure to consult a mechanic or auto shop if anything goes wrong. If you are in NJ a great place is Champion Tire. They have helped me out numerous times with issues I have had.
