 Who Wrote The Doomsday Book?
A certain king wrote the famous 'Doomsday Book' in 1086 but who was it, he did poll tax and knew where everyone lived and how much they earned and owned! Who was it- this isn't a quiz, I seriously can't remember secondary school history!

 The Doomsday book or the Book of Winchester was basically a book written after the great survey of England in the year 1086. It was executed by King William 1 of England. He is also known as William the Conqueror. The basic purpose of this survey was to increase the tax basis in England.
