I know most mobile homes aren't mobile but if the home were moved with ceramic tile in place, rough bumps could break the tile.  Also, you need to have an adequately supported floor for the tile.  The manufacturer's recommendation is a guide for support.  Some require at least a total of 3/4 inch thickness including backer board.

If you haven't done tile before you need to get a reference book and read it carefully.  You need to have the right tools and underlayment. Going around an island requires accurate layout of the whole project.

For the cuts around the edges, a wet tile saw is very valuable.  They can usually be rented.
