When Do Baby Gators Start Eating?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The eggs of an alligators are buried under sand by the mother to act as an incubation site. Later once the eggs hatch the young ones start to call out to their mother to dig them out as they are incapable of performing this feat on their own. Then the mother will carry them in its mouth to the water be it a pond or a river. Baby alligators are aggressive since the moment they are born. It is believed that they are aggressive since birth and hungry. Baby alligators once in the water will eat just about anything they can manage. Insects such as crickets are a personal favourite but they can also be seen eating fish, small mammals and crustaceans. Some people prefer to keep these animals as pets but this is illegal in several parts of the world.
