I am new to Blurtit and would like to ask questions but I am not sure how to fill in the ask question section on the site itself.

Leadership is not a study. It is an art in my opinion. It reflects your intelligence, efficiency, management, braveness and strong decision powers.
If you have all the above qualities then you can be a good leader. In other words you can say that leadership is performed very good by a person who has all the good qualities of a leader.

Leadership is the human quality that welds indifferent and disparate people into one voice, one activity, one cause. It occurs when a good communicator (clear, focussed and sincere or believable) creates a vision of a future state that is very desirable, and with passion and commitment, communicates it to others. The others want in on the new state of affairs. The leader, after motivating and inspiring these folks with their vision, produces and implements a plan that takes everyone there. They are united under the Plan.

Why don't you post that as a question? You'll get plenty of answers.
Great answer. I think people want, maybe even need, strong leaders. This is especially true in times of turmoil or hardship. Unfortunately, this need can be easily abused by a charismatic leader whose goals are not really in the best interests of the group he leads. I don't imagine anyone needs to think too hard to come up with several examples of such abuses. Thanks again for a thought-provoking answer.
Of course they are all leaders. On the other hand, are they all good leaders with legitimate causes.
Leadership is an additional quality by itself of a person. Leadership qualities come within themselves.

Leadership is accomplished by combining one's natural abilities, learned skills, and personal authenticity to move people without coercion in a common direction to accomplish or take the journey. The primary areas a leader gains competency in is execution and follow through, leading from within, motivating and inspiring others, appropriate focus on others, strategic thinking, encouraging and developing talent (in others/followers), aligning resources, and setting direction/establishing vision.
The best leaders are self aware-- they know their strengths and challenges, and while they exercise humility, it isn't false humility. It is balanced with confidence in self and faith in others. Leading from within means integrity-- honesty, personal courage, consistency in word and action, living honourably, being sincere and authentic, and being gracious with the talents of those following. It also includes an open mindedness but conviction of heart. Motivating and inspiring is about having and sharing a vision, allowing others ownership in that vision, and knowing followers at a deep enough level that strengths are recognized and accentuated through appropriate challenge, and weaknesses improved. Focus on others is about being aware of one's impact on others, understanding their inner drive, ensuring they have the resources they need, and removing obstacles to their progress. Execute and follow through is somewhat explanatory, but this is about having the skills and knowledge to direct a team toward tasks or the goal, and using the skills of organization and measurement to ensure the desired progress is occurring. E&F is also about good decision making skills and sound judgement. Thinking strategically is concerned with recognizing how what is being done today affects the followers, the outcomes and the future, so ensuring all actions are taken with the future also in mind, just not the immediate moment..
There is much more to leadership; it has been studied for thousands of years, and will likely be studied throughout man's existence.
