Eat Healthy But Die Anyway Or Live It Up With Bacon, Butter And Deep Fried Goodness?
I try to eat well but sometimes wonder if it's worth being deprived after all.. You only live once.

I would think that eating what one likes would be the way to go. Just keep it in moderation. There really aren't any bad foods if you eat them in moderation. Worry about health? If your Dr. Says you need to be on a restricted diet, then that is a different matter and one you will need to sort out at that time. I smoke. I really kind of enjoy smoking, although there are things I don't like about it. If it takes 7 years off my life, it will be at the end of my life, and I will be one less person taking up space in a nursing home.

My great grandparents lived to be 97 and 98. They owned a farm in Canada, butchered their own live stock, ate off the land. If you know anything about Canadians, you know they ate pork, sugar pies molasses and everything that was considered deadly by today's standards. The only difference between then and now is they didn't use toxic chemicals as preservatives as we do today. If you can get all natural, eat up!

I really do believe that is the key.. My parents are both in their 80's grew up barefoot on the bayou eating whatever they could kill or grow. our body can handle animal fat it is the preservatives that are poisoning us.. not to mention the actual poison in the soil and water..

I'm going to agree with Tiggersmom on this one. Moderation is the key. (and sometimes so is indulgence, but only in moderation. Hee hee) Don't deprive yourself because you only end up making yourself feel bad and then feel guilty after you over indulge. I try to eat mostly healthy during the week and then on the weekends I treat myself. It gives me something to look forward to that way.

Like you said, you only live once, so why not have a healthy life? Nobody want to waste their time in the hospital, suffering the pain.
Eat healthy does not mean you can not eat sweets or deep fried chips, as said by other users, you need moderation. Therefore, a balanced diet is very important.
Try to eat good food, and then your taste will change, you will feel KFC is not that delicious any more.

LOL I have gotten to where fast food disgusts me. I don't want it at all. I actually do crave a crispy salad sometimes. The last Time I went to KFC I felt I wanted to have my insides scrubbed out. if I really want to splurge I roll my chicken breast in wheat flour and lightly fry in olive oil then dip in Lite Honey mustard.. Its quite yummy..

You have only one life. You can spend it depriving yourself from those sugary, fat, but delicious things. Always craving them, but never getting them. But then you are healthy and more attractive. Or you can just eat whatever, no restraints, but possibly be unattractive and unhealthy!

Neither of those choices works for me :) I want it all ! and its possible to have most of it.. LOL Balance.. one weekend a month is a sort of free for all But I find oddly that I crave the healthier junk food.. Frozen yogurt.. dark chocolate, My real splurge is a dark chocolate Milkyway bar.. :heavenly:
