I think the first language was Hebrew. This is the language spoken by Jews throughout history. The Jewish culture is the oldest culture on Earth. Everywhere they've gone, they've taken Hebrew with them.
However, I can think of an interesting theological debate. Well, less theological than academic.
The Bible (both in Christianity and Judaism) records that God confused all languages at the tower of Babel. Before then, all humanity spoke one language. After that, people joined together in language groups. So, we don't really know which language was spoken before that. That language might not even exist anymore. Lol! Even so, I think it was Hebrew.
We also know that a few languages have changed over time and some are entirely new (sign language, for example). English developed from German, as it is a Germanic language, but borrowed heavily from Latin, a bit from Greek, and some French, for new words and concepts. French, Romanian, Spanish, and Italian all developed from Latin and are classified as Romantic languages for this reason (it does not mean that people who speak those languages are great lovers, it just means their languages developed from the language of Rome: Latin).
