Antarctica is basically the southernmost continent which comprises of the South Pole. Antarctica has the coldest climate on earth. The temperature in this region touches a minimum of -85 degrees C a -90 degrees C during the winter season, and is around 20 degrees C higher during summers. The most common health issue faced in this region is sun burn as the snow plane reflects around ninety percent of the sunlight that falls on it.
The eastern region is much colder than the western region because of it higher altitude. Weather fronts hardly get to infiltrate far into the continent, which mostly leaves the central region cold and dry. In spite of low rainfall in the central region, the ice here still manages to stay for long periods. The costal region faces heavy snowfall, where snowfalls nearly up to 1.22 meters have been recorded within forty eight hours.
