Can Someone With An Under Active Thyroid Gland Have Aromatherapy And If So, Which Oils Are Safe?
I have a client who wants an aromatherapy treatment but has an over active thyroid gland. I sent a letter to her GP to get their consent but they replied that they do not know anything about aromatherapy or body massage, therefore they cannot comment.

The under active thyroids or
hypothyroidism is managed by taking synthetic thyroxine. The aromatherapy can be
used safely in hyperthyroidism but in hypothyroidism the safety of any
essential oil is not sure because the essential oils decrease the function
of thyroids.
