How Many Different Versions Of Windows Vista Are There?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

In total there are six different versions of Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system, each of which is also available in either 64-bit or 32-bit flavours. One of these versions, called the Starter Edition, is intended only to be sold in less economically-developed nations, so in the West a total of five versions will be available.

One version of the software is designed for large companies only. This is called the Enterprise edition and it will not be available for purchase through conventional retail outlets. To get this version of the operating system, companies will need to sign a contract with Microsoft such as a volume license agreement or a software assurance contract.

The four other versions consist of basic and premium versions of the operating system designed for the Home and Business markets.

The two home versions are called Home Basic and Home Premium.

The two business editions are called Business and Ultimate.
